Enviromental Policy

In 2009, in accordance with the licence agreement, VPC completed the environmental baseline study for the Talitsky licence area. Since 2010, VPC has been monitoring the state of environment at the licence area of the Talitsky mine. 

In 2011-2012, VPC completed a preliminary environmental impact assessment for the period of construction and operation of the mine. Its results showed that the environmental impact is acceptable. 

In 2013-2014, the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources for Perm Krai (RosPrirodNadzor) developed and approved emission and waste standards and disposal limits for the Company. 

In 2015-2016, VPC continued environmental monitoring within the licence area, implemented a complex of environmental measures, such as wastewater screening and treatment, waste sorting and transfer to specialised organisations, and monitoring of the compliance with the standards for air emission.

In 2016, the State Environmental Expert Review Board approved VPC’s design documentation for the construction of surface facilities at the Talitsky mine and found that the Project complies with the environmental requirements envisaged by Russian regulations and environmental laws.

In 2017-2018, VPC completed environmental monitoring at the licence area and was involved in environmental activities in its footprint region.

In 2019, the Company continued environmental monitoring at the licence area and aligned its operations with the Russian environmental and sanitary regulations.
