Verkhnekamsk Potash Company held Public Hearings on assessing Environmental Impact of Building the Talitsky Mine at the Verkhnekamsk potassium-magnesium salt deposit.

On 14 October 2015, in Berezniki (Perm Krai), VPC held the final round of public hearings on its planned business and other activities under the design documentation, including preliminary environmental impact assessment, for the construction of the Talitsky mine's surface facilities, including tailing facilities (salt and sludge dumps).

The hearings were attended by officials from Berezniki, Usolye and Zheleznodorozhny administration, representatives of the general designer Novgorodsky GIAP (St. Petersburg), the All-Russian Society for Nature Protection (Berezniki and Perm Krai branch), the environmental management department of Berezniki and residents of Berezniki and Zheleznodorozhny.

VPC reported on the assessment of the actual condition of environmental components (air and soil, hydrogeological conditions and land resources), environmental impact characteristics, environmental monitoring and safety measures, environmental analysis results, current environmental status, design approach and assessment of the project’s potential environmental impact, pointing out that implementation of the project will not have an adverse effect on the mine area.
