On January 28, Acron Vice President Sergey Fedorov, General Director of VPC Aleksander Pupov and Deputy General Director of VPC Maxim Vyatkin met with Sergey Dyakov, the mayor of Berezniki, where VPC is building the Talitsky mine.
Fedorov informed the meeting that Acron has successfully completed the first stage of construction of the Oleniy Ruchey apatite concentrate project in the Murmansk region. Sergey Dyakov was impressed by the scale and pace of construction in the Murmansk region and expressed his interest in the new construction technologies that will be applied to building of the Talitsky mine.
Workers are busy at the Talitsky construction site. VPC top managers informed Dyakov about progress of the construction. For 2013, VPC planned to drill freezing boreholes and build and commission the first grade main lowering substation, worker housing, the concrete mixer unit, administrative facility, water intake, railroad station and permanent road, and facilities for construction of mine shafts.
The parties agreed on cooperation in key areas between the Company and the city administration. Payment from VPC for forest clearing will fund Berezniki’s Green City programme; in turn, the local administration will provide the Company with a land plot for construction of worker housing.
Later on the same day, Sergey Dyakov met with workers of Verkhnekamsk Potash Company. The mayor summarised the last year's results, described Berezniki’s plans for 2013 and responded to questions of the meeting. Dyakov stressed that the main struggle between leading players in the potash sector will be waged over access to trained, professional workers.
During his visit to Berezniki, Sergey Fedorov held a number of technical meetings with top managers from VPC and contracting organizations (FGUP US-30, OJSC Belgorhimprom, OJSC Permdorstroy, LLC Trest-2, LLC TOMS-Project) and also visited the construction site to evaluate progress of work.
